Hey Guys!! Welcome to my first pregnancy post in this new category on the blog. I’m so excited to continue to share my journey here and on my IG (@lisadnyc). Thanks for being so supportive and loving.

We planned a gender reveal party when we decided to take a blood test at around 11 weeks. I for one couldn’t wait to find out what we were having. Legit as soon as we found out we were pregnant I was so anxious to know. We picked up a sealed envelope from the doctor that revealed the gender on a Tuesday and brought it to the balloon store and the cake shop. We had to wait until that Saturday to find out. Let me tell you…it was soooo difficult to not look at that envelope!! I’m not the easiest person to surprise but I knew the gender reveal party would be way more fun if no one knew, including myself.

We opened the box filled with all blue balloons and cut the cake which revealed blue layers….It’s a BOY!!!! We are so excited about this even though we both didn’t care either way. Everyone in my family literally thought I was going to have a girl so the day of the reveal was a real shock for them. It was such an amazing day and a really special moment for my family. Gingy was even in on all the action. I love my family:)

As you know Adrian and I call each other love button so it was only fitting that the cake have “little love button” on top. I loved the ombre layers inside. It was sooo pretty and yummy too!

Something I haven’t spoken much about lately is the fact of how sad it is that my brother will never meet our child. Even though this is such a blessing in our lives and in our families lives, the pain of losing a loved one never disappears. Sometimes emotional pain really can take over but I mostly focus on the happy times, even though I have my days. When we found out we were having a boy I literally got chills. I do believe our angel was sent to us by my brother, my angel. It’s the reason we chose the song “Halo” for the reveal video. Watch it below or HERE.

A quick update on my pregnancy….I’m officially 21 weeks (5 months) and feeling great. This week we felt the baby kick, which is the most beautiful experience. We are so excited to welcome our little love button in August. Being halfway through the pregnancy is such an awesome feeling I have to say. The first trimester I was very nauseous so I’m beyond happy that I’m no longer in that phase. Everything they say about the second trimester is so true. It really is the honeymoon phase of pregnancy. I’m working out consistently, have energy and have traveled already. We will be taking an official babymoon soon and then we’ll be around for most of my third trimester.

Stay tuned for more updates and let me know what else you guys want to see more of. I thought I would put together some pregnancy must-haves that I have purchased so far so will be posting that list on here. In addition I will share some baby registry items that will definitely be on my registry but would love to hear what you mamas recommend as well.

Thank you for stopping by and being so amazing through this process so far:) I’m so excited to share more.

xoxo,
Lisa D.
